On September 20, Boy Eats Drum Machine is releasing 20 Beats, an all instrumental recording with 20 songs and 20 different album covers (similar to NIИ’s Ghosts). The digital release will be available through iTunes and other digital outlets. You can listen to a sample of what’s to come right here…

No, not a news post, just a post dedicated to one song.
After Johnny Cash‘s stunningly moving cover of Nine Inch Nails’ “Hurt,” it seems as if it’s being taken over by the alt.country scene. Here’s a video of Over the Rhine (Karin Bergquist on vocals) with Kim Taylor singing background vocals:

I wonder if Trent even does this song anymore? Seems like a rare occasion where a cover song trumps the original, and I think the Cash version will actually live on longer.
