In pre-Bad Veins news… Seth Green (aka Oz aka Scott aka Chris Griffin aka Robot Chicken) is going to be in the upcoming Heroes season as a comic book geek (or so says Paste’s blog).

Kaki King on Daytrotter

As you may remember for this blog, I dig Daytrotter. Well, today, there’s a new gem of free music up there… Kaki King – guitar virtuoso. She plays in the style of the late great Michael Hedges or the still alive and kicking Michael Kelsey, she played the guitar-playing double of August in August Rush. See some YouTubes below…

Guitar virtuosity aside, for this Daytrotter Session she does 3 of her more song-y tunes, and 1 instrumental…

Holy Fuck’s Daytrotter Session -Free EP-

Holy Fuck‘s Daytrotter Session has finally been released (it was mentioned in a Daytrotter email, like, 2 months ago)… :)

Jungle – from our first record. This song has morphed quite a few times since we’ve started playing it. It keeps changing all the time, which is probably why it’s so fun to play. It’s been one of those songs we’ve always played since the band started.

Latin – a relatively new song. It hasn’t been released on anything yet and we’re not sure what will become of that song yet. We’ve been trying out different things on this one during this tour, and it’s starting to take shape!
Lovely Allen – we always play this song last. It just doesn’t fit into the set anywhere else but very last.
Royal Gregory – we were reluctant to put the vocal part on this song. But it did work out, in the end — for the better. This song didn’t really come together until we went into the studio and recorded it. This was one of the few songs we had to learn after we recorded it.

Daytrotter does in-studio performances, and has MANY artists on their webpage. Some of the ones I’ve dug recently are My Brightest Diamond, David Bazan (of Pedro the Lion), and Erin McKeown… (and more, like The National, Death Cab for Cutie, et cetera)…
