“For Nothing“
Directed by Jimmy Ahlander
Threatening smoke, odd beings and glorified body parts, create dark poetry in this twisted, visual representation of OSI’s melancholic tune.

As previously announced, Sufjan Stevens will team up with Anticon artists Son Lux and Serengeti under the name s / s / s for an EP, Beak & Claw, that will drop on March 20th (the vinyl is available for pre-order now).
Yesterday, they posted a song from the release called “Museum Day,” a slow-building jam with some big, auto-tuned hooks from Sufjan.
Hear it below:
Yesterday also saw the release of the official music video for Björk’s “Hollow” (from Biophilia)…quite colorful and science-y… HD video below:
Talking about the video, Björk says:
It’s just the feeling when you start thinking about your ancestors and DNA that the grounds open below you and you can feel your mother and her mother, and her mother, and her mother, and her mother 30,000 years back. So suddenly you’re this kinda tunnel, or trunk of DNA… All these ghosts come up so it ended up begin a Halloween song and quite gothic in a way… It’s like being part of this everlasting necklace when you’re just a bead on a chain and you sort of want to belong and be a part of it and it’s just like a miracle.
Which is what we were all thinking, of course.

As previously mentioned, Cincinnati indie power-pop duo Bad Veins have a new album coming out soon… April 24th – The Mess We’ve Made (Modern Outsider Records). They just released their video for “Dancing on TV,” featuring a quaint 70s retro vision and the Bad Veins signature move of girl-meets-boy and missed connections… ’tis quite cute:

The official David Lynch-ian video for Puscifer “Telling Ghosts” is now posted on their official YouTube account…
It was shot by Tim Cadiente (Barton Perreira) and Meats Meier (3D Art Space) and edited by Mat Mitchell (Puscifer
). The video brings me right back to seeing them in Seattle in November 2011 (review with photos here).
Get the amazing album, Puscifer’s Conditions Of My Parole, over HERE.
The first session posted and the last session recorded from Pickathon 2011, Seattle-based singer-songwriter Damien Jurado and his new band take us through “Static To Be Sold” recorded by Live & Breathing in the Pickathon Pumphouse:
Per Damien, the song won’t be on the record, but will be out on a 7″ vinyl…
..and yes, it was as cramped as it looks. i remember, being only able to hear the cymbals. it was awesome!

Chevelle’s new album, Hats Off to the Bull, is a hard rock masterpiece. The video for “Face to the Floor” was released yesterday…
Perhaps the new music video for “High Low Middle” from My Brightest Diamond is an unofficial theme song for the Occupy Wall Street movement (albiet unintentional – as it was in the can long before #OWS)… directed by Murat Eyuboglu, filmed in Detroit and featuring dancers from RunJitRun and Jitting Jesus:
When you’re privileged you don’t even know you’re privileged
When you’re not, you know
When you’re happy you don’t even know you’re happy
When you’re not, you know
full lyrics (link)
Fellow Detroit musician Blue Stahli makes an appearance in the video. If he or (*gasp*) labelmate Celldweller remixed some MBD tunes, that would be RAD as HELL! Afternoon Update: Blue Stahli responded with a “Funny you should say that…” twitter reply. Nice!

Fantastically shot, this is what may possibly become the Live DVD release on Ipecac Recordings… so, just like the Amsterdam concert from a few years back, watch it now, it may disappear from the internets before you know it.
Portland post-rock duo Talkdemonic just premiered their video for “City Sleep” (from their newest album Ruins) on MTV Hive. The video was directed by Alicia J Rose. And don’t worry, the high-pitch buzz goes away about 2:30 minutes in as the video gets really interesting…

Hopefully now you see why I love her so… if you like what you hear, swing by the Amazons and pick up her newest album. CD, vinyl or mp3 download (on Asthmatic Kitty). It came out today…
Björk is being more and more assimilated into her Biophilia App… with the “Moon” video, directed by björk, inez and vinoodh, m/m paris and james merry:
The full-length album, Biophilia, comes out October 11th. It’s available for pre-order now.
My Brightest Diamond’s new album, All Things Will Unwind, is now available for pre-order on Asthmatic Kitty (CD / LP) or Amazon (CD / LP). It drops October 18th in the U.S. The lead-off single, “Be Brave,” is out on iTunes with two remixes. The part in-studio, part Shara being trippy in masks video is below…
Directed by longtime MBD collaborator Murat Eyuboglu, the video captures the studio recording of the song with a bit of performance from frontwoman Shara Worden and dancer Jessica Dessner. Emilliner created the facsinators, Lake Simons made the mask, and Noelle Marinelli did makeup. Our good friend DM Stith provides background vocals. Read more info about the song here.
She also has a few tour dates pulled together for the fall (not necessarily a complete listing thus far):
New video from Icelandic post-rocker Sigur Rós for the song “Klippa“…
Gorgeous yet odd, and based on the link on the vimeo site, somehow related to their upcoming Inni DVD release.
The first single from Puscifer’s second album Conditions of My Parole now has a video. Get your Maynard James Keenan fix with the”Man Overboard” is directed by Meats Meier…
I dig the song more than the video… while I dig Meats’ style, all the Puscifer videos are a bit “samey.” I’d hope for something more unique rather than doing the same thing over and over again. Great song from Maynard & Co and great talent in Meats, though… in spades, for sure.
The CD is up for pre-order here, and the vinyl is available for pre-order (and comes out October 18th). The digital download single is available now. A US Tour is expected for November 2011.
And another new Lasse Hoile video from Steven Wilson’s impending 2nd solo album, Grace for Drowning. Behold, “Remainder the Black Dog”… another dark, visual mindf*ck from Lasse Hoile with a Dream Theater-esque fuzzy guitar and keyboard solo.
Grace for Drowning is out September 27th. Pre-order now on Amazon. Check out the video for “Index” over HERE and “Track One” over HERE.
